You might also want to check the sensitivity that you have selected for your mouse in the Windows XP Control Panel area. So a... I had just replaced the software and now I had replaced the hardware. I unplugged the mouse receiver at the back of the computer and plugged it into a USB port on the front, moving it closer and placing it directly underneath the mouse. It's easy! I think it is weird that it only started doing this a few days ago.
