I spent some time with HP support and still no real resolution to the problem. At 3 PM I plugged it in again and my battery was 46% left. I reseated it....but we will see what happens....I guess I will have to just send it back to hp... this content after that i put the battery back in and plugged cord back in and waited for about 5-10 minutes.

When I replaced the battery it started working. Do the “powerdrain” by pressing the power button down for a good minute or more, then reconnect the battery, (run the powerdrain again for good measure, then reconnect the power cable. Do not power up the laptop! So there would be three: 1) Laptop not charging when windows running 2) Laptop not charging AT ALL. All of a sudden, it started charging and now i checked (after a couple of hours of charging) it, it is 97% charged and (hopefully) charging.
