It is unfinalised. Rather than fighting Microsoft, I just drag the folder onto the desktop where the rename option is available, rename the file, and then drag it back to where it belongs. This is also happening with the raw files in other locations. No, create an account now. Vista General can't rename foldersWhenever I create a new folder and then try to rename it the new name reverts back to "new folder" when I hit enter. I had the same problem, I had the picture changing every ten seconds. Windows Explorer is a fine general purpose file browser, but its abilities to deal with images are very basic, and kind of an afterthought, to be honest.
I can rename files but not folders. This really seems like a glitch. Holloway, Sir. Using a batch rename applications is the only way I have ever known to rename groups. Alternativly, the file may be 'locked' by another program [ neopaint eg ] but a free program called 'unlocker' can release it.
