This particular system (not a Dell) had a BIOS update that showed on the website, but not in the OEM's tool. Uninstalled the password software and haven't had a problem since. I have exactly the same initial problem as above. Down the page a bit is a download link for a burnable and bootable iso link.
Check your voltage in BIOS and see if you can stabilize it by giving a bit more power to the memory. I updated all drivers, installed all updates from Microsoft, Lonovo and ran sfc/scannow with no errors found. Join the community here, it only takes a minute.
