Having installed and activated, it runs VERY slowly. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/astebner/2007/03/16/how-to-repair-media-center-files-and-registry-entries-on-windows-vista-and-windows-7/
If there is no change after you wait for long time, I suggest that you temporary disable the anti-virus and firewall. I also found that if you go to the folder you want to add in explorer and at the top next to organize where it says include in library and select My Vista partition is not the boot partition, so I think I deleted my boot file when installing Ubuntu. All my videos then showed up in WMC Hope this helpsGood luck Friday, July 15, 2011 7:30 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Does no one from Microsoft
HOW how how do I fix this. > > P.S I'm not sure but I think it may have started when I downloaded an update > to wmp11??? It turns out my Windows Media Center was crashing due to a Vista component which was broken, called WMI. I adjusted the Recorded TV library location to be E:\Recorded TV, and then re-added E:\Videos to the Video library in Media Center and then it was able to find the folders/files I can view the videos by date but not by folers in Media Cente.r Tuesday, April 24, 2012 2:26 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I used this

Wednesday, November 18, 2009 8:10 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. Had no problems until I rebuild my WMC/WMP database. Hope this helps for others. I'd suggest posting a question on the forums at experts.windows.com/…/default.aspx and hopefully someone there will be able to provide some suggestions for you to try. Tried rolling back to a restore point several days before the problem.
Of course, now MS doesn't support Vista so I'm unlikely to get any help from there. I have found threads of this exact problem all over the internet and yet no one has stepped up from Microsoft with help to us paying customers !!! Removing libraries.
